Freid “A Little Hero for His Sister”

Freid was the name of a little boy in a village. He was a fatherless son. his father died when he was four years old. He lived with his mother, sister and their servant in a big house. They lived together in harmony. His mother loved him very much because he was a good son. He always obeyed her wishes and never contradicted what she said to him.

Day by day Freid grew up under the auspices of his mother. Even though he did not have a father, Freid felt very happy and grown up as a good son due to his mother affection. At the age of six, he was sent to the elementary school. Freid joined the school happily and he was accounted as one of the clever students in his class. Beside being clever, he also had alot of friends. At the end of every semester, he always showed his grade proudly to his mother. He enjoyed studing in the elementary school for six years and passed the final exam excitedly.

After he graduated from the elementary school, Freid continued to study in junior high school which was near to his house. Actually, he wanted to continue his studying in a famous junior high school in the other city but he remembered that his mother was alone at home. There was no other person in the house that could be his mother’s friend. He had a sister named Guardis but she was studying in a city which was quite far from their hometown.

In the first year, Freid really enjoyed studying in the junior high school and he was accounted as a clever student in his class. His mother was strong enough to earn money for both her children’s school fees. Unfortunately, in his second year in the junior high school his mother got a serious illness. Because of that, everything changed and nobody earned money for their school fees. At that time, Freid could not concentate on his studies. He thought hard whether he could finish his studying in the junior high school or not. He did not only think about himself, but also Guardis. “What will happen to Guardis if there is no one pays her school fee?” he asked himself. By each passing day the mother became very pale and her illness could not be treated. One day while Freid was having a final exam in his fourth semester, his mother died.

Freid was so confused. while continuing to finish his study in the junior high school, he worked hard to earn money for his school fees and also Guardis’. After graduating from the junior high school, he did not want to continue studying in the senior high school. He decided to be the bread winner for his sister, Guardis, who was in the seventh semester.

One day he wrote a letter to his sister, “Dear my beloved sister, now we are in a serious problem. We do not have parents to support us as other children in our age do. But do not worry my beloved sister, do not worry about your school fee, just go on studying because there is someone who will support you. Yes, for your school fee.” Freid tried hard in earing money for his sister. Every month he sent for his sister the money that he got without telling Guardis from whom he got the money.

Since their mother’s death, Freid and Guardis never met each other. They just kept in touch with each other by mailing a letter. Every semester break Guardis really wanted to return home, as the other students did to visit her brother but she did not have enough money. She never knew how Freid was. She did not know if Freid had decided not to continue studying in the senior high school just to earn money for her.

Every time Freid sent her money, she always asked him about it. ” Where did you get the money from?” the question which was usually asked by Guardis to her brother. Freid always answered politely, “Do not worry about it.” His answer made Guardis strong to go on studying gratefully. She never knew if Freid struggled to earn money for her. Guardis determined to finish her studying early so that she could get a good job and help Freid for his school fee. But it was not possible because Freid had got a job as a manual laborer.

Every month he always sent the money for his sister. A year later Freid received the good news that Guardis graduated from the university and got a good job. Freid was very happy and said, “Thank you God, your love is really powerful and you raise us up as your beloved children.”
